Health shouldn't be a luxury: Everything about the ADCB Social Program

At the Association for Baromedical Development and Research (ADCB), we believe that access to innovative, life-saving medical treatments should not depend on a patient’s financial means. For this reason, we have created the Social Program, an initiative through which we offer free hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) sessions to people in need.

What is the ADCB Social Program?

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves inhaling pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber. Although it is an extremely effective method for treating chronic wounds, burns, and tissue necrosis, as well as for post-stroke recovery, the costs of equipment and specialized personnel often make this treatment difficult to access.

Through this program, ADCB covers the financial burden for critical social cases, using funds raised through donations and sponsorships.

Who is this program intended for?

We focus our resources on patients who have a clear medical recommendation for HBOT but face severe financial constraints. Through our program, we prioritize the following specialties and conditions:

  • Orthopedics:
    • Aseptic bone necrosis;
    • Bone infections (osteomyelitis);
    • Radiation necrosis (bone damage caused by radiation therapy);
    • Multiple trauma resulting from serious accidents.
  • Neurology:
    • Post-stroke rehabilitation;
    • Traumatic brain injury;
    • Spinal cord injury;
    • Myelitis.
  • Diabetology and Wound Care:
    • Ischemic ulcers and complex diabetic foot wounds (prevention of amputation);
    • Pressure ulcers.

How does the selection process work?

Transparency is essential to us. Every applicant must follow a few simple steps:

  1. Medical Records: Submission of documents confirming the diagnosis and the need for treatment.
  2. Social File: Documents proving financial hardship (pension slips, income statements, etc.).
  3. Assessment: Our medical and administrative team reviews the case based on the medical urgency and the number of funded spots currently available.

How can you support this program?

Every free therapy session we offer is made possible by your support. There are three main ways you can help us ensure that no patient is turned away:

  • Donate 3.5%: It’s free for you and vital for a patient.
  • Corporate Sponsorship: Companies can cover the treatment costs for a certain number of patients and receive tax benefits.
  • Direct donations: Any amount helps us keep the hyperbaric chamber open for those in need.

The ADCB Social Program is more than just a medical initiative; it is a promise of solidarity. It is our duty to ensure that technology reaches those who need it most, not just those who can afford it.
